LIFE Board Proposes Change to Bylaws
Presently the LIFE By laws specify that LIFE board and officer elections be held at the Annual meeting scheduled on the last day of our fall semester. The following simple Bylaw change would align the LIFE and UCF academic calendars, and make a better transition for the LIFE board members, officers, and committee chairpersons:
“8.2 An annual meeting of the membership shall be held on the last regular session of the spring semester for the purpose of electing Directors and to receive annual reports and other appropriate business.”
This recommended change requires approval by the LIFE membership. This will be done by voice vote at a special meeting of the general membership on October 27, 2015. If approved all LIFE board member and officer terms will be extended by 6 months.
LIFE BREAKS RECORD FOR FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS
Thank you to all LIFE members who donated to the Knights Helping Knights food pantry. A total of 1022.5 pounds of food was collected from our membership, along with $5,000 in donations, making this our largest and most successful collection yet. Special thanks to Lynn Trivett, who organized and coordinated the food drive, as well as LIFE volunteers Ross Williams, John Gardepe, and Kimmy Trivett who assisted with collection. These donations will make a big difference for needy UCF students.

A Shuttle Service for LIFE members is offered every Tuesday to assist members in getting to the Student Union for class sessions. Welcome to the 96 new members to the 2015 fall semester Class sessions that begin on August 25. Even with a large new enrollment the waiting list still remains at over 200 members.
