Growing Bolder produces video on UCF research project Funded By LIFE

Who says you’re too old to play? Part of Growing Bolder is staying active, moving more and remembering to embrace fun and joy every day. And now, a breakthrough program at the University of Central Florida funded by the LIFE Richard Tucker Gerontology Applied Research Award Program is helping build intergenerational relationships that lead to a win-win situation: kids who aren’t afraid of getting older and adults who are encouraged to get and stay healthy.  LIFE members are participating in this UCF program.  To view a video on this program click on the below link:  Growing Bolder Video

LIFE Fund Drive for Gerontology Research at UCF
The LIFE 25 th year celebration announced that a special FUND RAISING DRIVE has been established that will support increased funding to the annual Richard Tucker Gerontology Applied Research Award program, and will create annual student scholarships for UCF students working towards a gerontology minor. Presently this program is supported through excess operating funds. The gerontology Awards program was created to promote gerontology research here at UCF. To date the program has been successful in creating start up research efforts in many of the UCF departments. These successful efforts have provided the information needed to develop larger scale grants from larger research support organizations. Our program needs to grow to meet the expanding UCF base. Please consider donating to this very important research area that can impact all LIFE members. More information about this program can be found on this web site under the Donation tab.

LIFE EMAILS ARE SENT THROUGH a SPAM PROTECTION SERVICE
Because of limits placed on large numbers of outgoing emails, LIFE must use a Spam protection service (Mailchimp) to send out our emails to the membership. You should have already received an email advising you of this change. Some members have already questioned the change in the sender address information. You will also note at the end of all LIFE emails a link that allows you to unsubscribe to the service. If you inadvertently unsubscribed and wish to receive LIFE information email you can reapply by sending an email to LIFE@ucf.edu. However this process takes special communication to mailchimp and is not guaranteed.

Please use the Web Based LIFE Program Evaluation System
The Curriculum committee needs member feedback on the programs provided each week.   After each presentation an email is sent out to all members that includes a Speaker evaluation form.  Your input is valuable.  Please take the time to complete surveys, especially on those you have found to be very rewarding or not up to par.
